Rep. Harry Osterman is trying to pass HB6123 to outlaw Blacks and Hispancis from owning firearms

This bill is HB6123, which is a bill that Black and Hispanics should pay close attention to not just in Illinois but through out the United States.

HB6123, has the following clauses that needs to be paid close attention to.

• prohibit any person or entity from selling a firearm to a so-called “street gang member.
• This prohibition applies even if the individual has passed a Brady Law FBI background check. Making a prohibited sale would result in Class 1 felony charges and possible jail time for the seller.
• HB6123 promotes racial profiling at its worst,” commented ISRA Executive Director, Richard Pearson.

Popular culture has branded urban minorities with the ‘gangsta’ stereotype that is pervasive well beyond the confines of actual criminal enterprises. Today’s fashion, music, slang and lifestyle are all heavily influenced by the urban experience.

• HB6123 establish no test for determining ’street gang’ membership, and given the harsh penalties for violating the proposed law,

ISRA Executive Director, Richard Pearson, If HB6123 is passed into law, the calendar on race-relations will be turned back 70 years and there will not be a gun shop in the state that will sell a firearm to an African American or Hispanic person.

Even though the bill states gang member here is the definition of that title. "any combination, confederation, alliance, network, conspiracy, understanding, or other similar conjoining, in law or in fact, of 3 or more persons with an established hierarchy that, through its membership or through the agency of any member engages in a course or pattern of criminal activity."

There has been several nightclubs in Chicago that have created a controversy when they denied young men who had cornrows and wore baggy pants into the night club. The owners of these clubs stated that baggy pants and certain hairstyles are signs that a person is a gang member. We now have a person's sense of style, automatically clarifying them in the state of Illinois and who knows maybe other states as well, a gang member.

How do you feel about not being able to buy guns if you could pass the background check and you are buying a gun in a lawful way and to be told that you are denied this right on the basis of your skin color or your manner of dress or hairstyle? Do you see this bill has a way to deem the Black and Hispanics in a state of despair at the mercy of what other ethnic group that decides to come into their neighborhood with firearms. Is this going to lead to a search of all Black and Hispanics that now have legal firearms having to turn them over to the government? And is this going to also have authorities going through black and Hispanics homes in search of firearms? How long will it be before it goes to all of the states in these United States?

The American Bar Association has noted that there is more disagreement and less understanding about this right than of any other current issue regarding the Constitution.^[2]

Saul Cornell has claimed that for almost a century after the ratification of the Bill of Rights, the intended meaning and application of the Second Amendment drew less interest than in modern times.^[3]

Notable U.S. Supreme Court interpretations of the Second Amendment include those in United States v. Cruikshank (1875), Presser v. Illinois (1886), Miller v. Texas (1894), Robertson v. Baldwin (1897), United States v. Miller (1939) and District of Columbia v. Heller (2008).

Black People are asked to leave Walmarts in Washington Township, New Jersey

On a Sunday evening people of all races were shopping at the Walmart's in New Jersey, when they heard on the store announcements, all black people are to leave the store. Does it remind anyone of the 60's in the south? Do people see what year it is or have only the black race managed to see that this is 2010? Blacks complained to management, who in turn contacted the local police department in Washington Township. Police then opened an investigation with the county prosecutor's office. "The incident is being investigated by both law enforcement agencies as a suspected bias intimidation crime," officials told the press as stated in The Daily Voice Black America's daily news source. Walmart's corporate office was also upset by the call for all black people to leave the New Jersey Walmart store, and said that is was bad negative publicity. It appears to me that Walmart's is more concern with the negative publicity then what really happened. If this did not make the media, would Walmart's be concerned about this? One has to ask?

Two Black South Jersey women are boycotting Walmart at this time while this incident is being investigated. The Officials at Walmarts are looking at security tapes to find out who the person was that made the call over the speaker for all black people to leave Walmarts. Maybe if Walmarts felt this nationally they would not just view it as negative publicity but really see how this announcement made black people reflect on the past and what has become the normal in this society that we call the United States.

I think that now is the time for a call of action for Black Americans, we need to be responsible for our purchases and where we make them and for the schooling of our children. We can be our own Walmarts. It is time for us to form our own schools, and encourage our students today, to become the Doctor's, Nurses, and teachers that are needed. We need to reflex on our history and put aside the little differences that stand between us, such as social status, religion, the different hues of our skin and make a stand for ourselves to be true to ourselves. We are a strong people and we call do all things that are of a benefit for our people.

If you were in the Walmarts at the time this announcement was made how would you feel? If your family or friends were there, how would you feel? Could you continue to support a business that at any time can call an announcement for you to leave? This is a question for you to ask yourself.

Universirty of California campus has started a rage of racism across California

Is San Diego, California, trapped in a time warped and returned to the 1960's and taken the rest of the colleges across California with them?

What started at one college as a racist acts, has now spread to several campus across California. On February 15, 2010, students at the University of California held a party that mocked black history month, that was the beginning of tribulation that started the trials of racism openly in San Diego.

The school — where about 2 percent students are black — has been in turmoil over an off-campus "Compton Cookout" party organized by some students that urged people to dress as ghetto stereotypes and promised there would be chicken, watermelon and malt liquor.

On March 3, 2010 at the University of California a KKK styled hood was found.

At UC Irvine, about 250 people gathered for a "student solidarity speak out" to condemn the recent spate of racist incidents at UC San Diego that targeted black students and another incident last month at UC Davis, which targeted a Jewish student with a swastika carved on her door, said Marya Bangee, an event organizer.

The protests came on the same day UC San Diego announced the discovery of a white pillowcase fashioned into a KKK-style hood — the third racist incident around the campus in as many weeks — and a day after UC Santa Cruz officials found an image of a noose scribbled on the inside of a bathroom door.

Officials found the hood, which bore a hand-drawn circle and cross, on a statue of children's book author Theodor Geisel, aka Dr. Seuss, outside the main campus library late Monday. A rose had been inserted between the statue's fingers.

One of the students responsible for the noose apologized to the university community in an anonymous letter published Monday in the campus newspaper. She said the noose was formed while she and friends were playing around with a piece of rope and had no meaning as a lynching symbol.

In California one has to ask themselves is the year the 1950s or the 1960s, you certainly would not think that this is the year 2010, with the United States having a bi-racial President.

Has these racial issues in California become like an itch that you scratch, that you cannot stop because you cannot receive any relief from it and know that you need to put on medication, and find the root cause of the problem?

Do we call these acts racism or do we call them just childish pranks? If childish pranks how do we stop them? Does covering up the racist acts, become a solution or does it cause it to spread like wild fire? Does exposing it become the answer to stopping it? There has to be an answer for as we can see, what has started at one college campus in California has spread across the state. Is this going to become a problem that spreads to all college campuses across the country, along with high schools?

When is the book ever going to end on racism in this country?
