White Police officer kills off duty black Police officer

Officer Omar Edwards, 25, was an NYPD officer for two years before being gunned down by a fellow officer on May 28, 2009.
Officer Omar Edwards was had just completed his shift at the E. 124 th Street station like any other night. As Edwards walked around the corner toward his personal car parked on Second Avenue."We believe he saw an individual, later apprehended and identified as Miguel Santiago rummaging through his car after having smashed the driver-side window to gain entry," said Commissioner Raymond Kelly. Edwards approached and tried to stop Santiago, before the two got into a physical struggle. Santiago was able to get away from the officer Omar Edwards, by slipping out of his sweater, Commissioner Raymond Kelly said. Edwards chased the man up two streets with his gun drawn. When he was shot and killed by a fellow officer who was driving by and saw the pursuit, Commissioner Raymond Kelly said. A sergeant and two plainclothes officers in an unmarked police car saw the pursuit and made a U-turn to follow the men, Kelly said. Officer Edwards was in plain clothes. Police said he had taken out his gun, a Smith & Wesson 9-millimeter. One of the officers, identified Friday morning as Officer Dunton, a four-year veteran in the anti-crime unit, shooting officer, who was in the front passenger seat, got out of the car and shouted at Officer Edwards to stop and drop the gun. and the non-shooting officer, the shooting officer yelled, "Police, stop&drop the gun, drop the gun. According to the sergeant identified himself as a police officer before the firing on Edwards.

At that point, police said Dunton fired six times from a 9-millimeter, striking Officer Edwards three times - once in the left arm (in and out), once in the left side (bullet is lodged in right abdomen), and once in the left back (bullet is lodged in the chest).

Edwards and Dunton were approximately 15 feet apart. Six shell casings from the shooting officer's gun were recovered at the scene.

The question that I have is this was it necessary for Officer Edwards to have been shot at 6 times and hit 3 times, did Officer Dunton, who is white, hear Office Edwards say that he was an officer and if the police officers and the Sergent that was in the car wittiness the whole confrontation before just automatically setting out to kill this Black 25 year old police officer. Was the shooting excessive?

Are police officers using the shoot now and ask questions later only when it comes to black men? Would this had been the same scenario if both officers were white? So does it just come down to race once again? While in 2009, we find ourselves still in a color aroused society in these United States.?

Vice-President Joe Biden's 1994 law for Violence against Women Act does not apply to April Griffin, in Milwaukee

When in the United States of America, does a non-citizen get more rights than an American born and law-biding citizen get? When does the rights of a non-American citizen who is accused of date-rape, that produces a child and physically abuses this American citizen get rights and the American born citizen this young mother's is stripped from her 's and she has her child snatched from her and placed in the hands of her abuser. When in the history of American , had there ever been placed a bench warrant for an baby under the age of one? When in American history does the judge have the right to change a baby's name, against the custodial American Citizen's wishes. While Joe Biden was senator he had implemented a law Violence Against Women Act in 1994 was the beginning of a historic commitment to women and children victimized by domestic violence and sexual assault. Our nation has been rewarded for this commitment. For a reason unknown to me it does not apply to April Griffin and her son Jesse Griffin in Milwaukee. Senator Biden of Delaware, now Vice-President Biden of the United States of America stated in the 90's that ground-breaking Violence Against Women Act (VAWA) in the 1990s that set the national agenda on criminalizing violence against women and holding batterers truly accountable. It encouraged states to set up coordinated community responses to domestic violence and rape; was the catalyst for passage of hundreds of state laws prohibiting family violence; and provided resources to set up shelters so battered women abused by husbands and boyfriends had a place to go.
Each time the Senator renewed the Act, in 2000 and 2005? He pushed for new initiatives. In 2000, the Act was attached to ground-breaking laws on human trafficking , crimes where over 80% of the victims are women. In 2005, the Violence Against Women Act tackled issues like domestic violence in public housing and treating children witnesses of family violence. Vice President Joseph R. Biden, Jr. Current Office: Vice President First Elected: 11/04/2008 Domestic Violence "I consider the Violence Against Women Act the single most significant legislation that I've crafted during my 35-year tenure in the Senate. Indeed, the enactment of the Violence Against Women Act in 1994 was the beginning of a historic commitment to women and children victimized by domestic violence and sexual assault. And since we passed the Act in 1994 over a million women have found justice in our courtrooms and obtained domestic violence protective orders."? Why has this escaped Vice-President Biden's notice and radar is that it has failed to protect April and Jesse Griffin. I hope that Vice-President Biden, would look at what he has made a law in 1994, that it will be used to protect April now. This has been confirmed by the Senate and is to be reported directly to the Attorney General. Because of the Senator's initiative, the Office's leadership and agenda cannot be pushed to the sidelines nor marginalized as one of many offices in a large bureaucracy. Instead, this law gives the Violence Against Women Office the foundation and roots it deserves. It is a separate and distinct office within the Department of Justice with a Director who answers only to the Attorney General. With April Griffin, this was not the case and still not the case, this young black mother has had her child taken from her she is facing 12 years in prison there has been many documents that were taken out of content and lies in the legal court that resides over her case. The laws of the State of Wisconsin and the federal laws of the United States of America. April Griffin is in prison for failure to provide her son to the abuser and the law that Vice-President enacted that states it has to go before the Attorney General has been robbed of her rights as a citizen of American, and a non-citizen has taken the rights that legally belong to her. April has undergone through her arrest on September 26, 2008 Milwaukee police entered April's home, without warrants and in plain clothes and pepper sprayed her while she held her baby, the baby was also sprayed. A 300 pound, 6 ft 4 white male cop, put his knee in April's back, tasered her with the taser gun directly on her spine paralyzing her, they also broke the baby's bones in the process. April has remained in the Milwaukee County Jail facing 12 years for a false charge 'interference with custody. When there was not a custody hearing, the state of Wisconsin asked her to name the father in a PATERNITY hearing to be reimbursed by the father for medical cost, she gave them medical documents about rape, and abuse-but he came in and offered money to the judge and the baby has been taken without any of her family members knowing where her son is, if he is in the states or in Africa as the father has threaten to take him. IN THIS DAY AND TIME, I WONDER WE WERE STOLEN FROM AFRICA AND BROUGHT TO THE UNITED STATES IT SEEMS AS IF WITH APRIL. HER SON WAS STOLEN AND TAKEN BACK TO AFRICA. IRONIC ISN'T IT. I don't understand how this could happen in America, and how a non-citizen who was an abuser and a rapist with hospital records to back all of April's claims be given the rights of what should of been April's, to have her son, a child that he never have been give custody to only visitation rights. But the judge states that April's crazy and needs mental elevation because she did not listen to him. What Mother would knowingly allow their child to be placed in harm's way. What Mother would knowingly allow someone to take their child after threatening to take them away from her and she not be able to ever see him again, because he was taking him to Africa. So that makes all Mothers crazy of every race, and social status. Please look at the video link on the side bar for April's sisters legal documents and continue to hear her sister's story and the outcry for help for this family. After doing so please follow the link and sign the petition and get this innocent woman out of jail and her son home to her. www.youtube.com/freeaprilgriffin http://globalgrind.com/source/www.thepetitionsite.com/560285/free-april-griffin-the-petition-site/ http://www.time.com/time/nation/article/0,8599,1846551,00.html

Delaware State police officer, charged with sexual extortion and taking bribes.

photo

Cpl. Joshua A. Giddings
While the State of Delaware has plans to cut the amount of local and state police officers , I think of all the reasons why the police departments should not have police officers cut to fix the budget in Delaware, in exchange for the safety of the residents that reside in Delaware. To my surprise a Delaware State Police officer gives a reason why the opposite of my argument is false. For you see this police officer has become on the wrong side of the law, while on duty and placing a 39-year-old New Castle woman under-arrest for stealing at a J.C. Penny's at the Christiana Mall on March 19. Giddings had taken her into custody but agreed to issue her a criminal summons instead of taking her to court if she performed a sexual favor, MacLeish said. Crp. Giddings drove to a secluded location and the woman performed the sexual act and he drove her home. When the sexual act became know to Delaware State police, Crp. Giddings was suspended with pay and his benefits, however during the investigation, police discovered a seminal fluid on an article of clothing belonged to the woman that should of been taken directly to court that matched Giddings DNA.
Cpl. Joshua Giddings, who has been a trooper for seven years. Has now been charged with sexual extortion and receiving a bribe, he has been suspended without pay and benefits and was released on $8,000 unsecured bond. With police officers conducting themselves in an unlawful way then the argument is lost to not cutting the amount of police officers that are in the state of Delaware. When we have police officers that are tasering and conducting themselves in the manner that Cpl. Giddings has demonstrated, where are we the residents of Delaware in regards to safety? What happened to the victim, is the charges against her dropped now for stealing out of J.C. Penny's or is she now charged with bribery and other acts, is she now a victim of circumstances or the legal system, where does she stand now? http://www.delawareonline.com/article/20090511/NEWS/90511038/-1/NLETTER03/Trooper+charged+with+sexual+extortion?source=nletter-breakingnews

Delaware's County Executive to cut New Castle county's Police Department at a time when crime is on a high.

In the state of Delaware, the home of vice-President Joseph Biden, County Executor Chris Coons with the knowledge that Delaware has become a state where violence has risen at an alarming rate that is uncommon with Delawareans. Has decided that now we need to reduce the amount of New Castle County Police officers in New Castle County area in Delaware. Layoffs will begin in the New Castle County Police Department, New Castle County Executive Chris Coons announced Friday, saying he was unable to reach an agreement with the police union over salary reductions. Patrol, detectives, support staff or personnel will be announced next week. Coon seeking a 5% pay cut from the county's 1,500 employees to reduce his government's $40 million dollar budget shortfall. Coons had over 900 workers that had agreed to the reduction, that amounts to a savings of $3.1. million dollars. Last week, after Coons had talks with local 3911, the emergency services workers union and nine county paramedics-in-training were laid off. FOP No.5 decided not to participate in the shared sacrifice of the pay cut. Coons said "He was hopeful that they could reach an agreement within a year with both unions who represents our public safety. Joe Lavelle, president of the police union, who said it was a "gross mischaracterization" of the union's position. "We didn't refuse to share the pain," he said. "They refused our proposals." Joe Lavelle, a 5% pay cut would affect police officers negatively more so that other employees because of officer's pensions are calculated using their salary of the last year worked. Police officers are required by Delaware state law to retire at age 55. Coons has proposed $23 million budget for the coming fiscal year that he says reflects a middle-ground mix of spending cuts, a tax increase and salary reductions. The budget contains $23 million in cuts from every department. But those cuts are offset by a $16 million increase in health care and pension expenses. The net result is a budget that would spend $7 million less. Coons who has proposed a 25% tax increase and $10 million taken from the county's cash reserve to balance the fiscal 2010 budget that starts July 1. The Council is to vote on this Budget May 26. I suggest that everyone should be at this council meeting and vote no to it. Victory Church has a timely play that is playing this weekend MURDER WHAT'S NEXT, New Castle County Executive, Chris Coons, has given a pre-view as to what is to increase this state of violence and murder in the fiscal 2010 budget by cutting police officers and ems workers. I would like to see New Castle County Executive, Chris Coons, take a pay cut for himself and lift up the pay for those that are called to protect and serve, so that the state of Delaware's violence and crime does not continue to climb on an up hill battle. I suggest that New Castle County Executive, Chris Coons, and our local and state politicians take a 5% pay cut in order to keep the citizens of the 1st. state of Delaware as safe as possible. So again, I must repeat that it is a mandate that we should all appear at the May 26 fiscal 2010 meeting and voice our opinions are the reasons that we can afford to allow these cuts in these areas to be done. Please contact Chris Coons' office and tell him no, to the cuts of our safety in Delaware. New Castle County Executive 87 Reads Way New Castle, DE 19720 Directions
