Dickinson High teen reported missing
A 15-year-old Newport girl was reported missing today after not showing up for school Monday.
Newport police said Yasmin Mendiola was last seen at 6 a.m. Monday when she left to go to Dickinson High School.
This afternoon, her mother received a call from a man with a blocked phone number who told her that she would never see her daughter again.
The caller said, “We are taking her to Toronto,” Newport Police Sgt. Stephan Johnson said.
The anonymous caller also mentioned the city of Wilmington and the name “Zavlos.” I did a google search on the name and this is what I came to
She is a B.I.G (Brazilian it girl) model and was raised by the famous Zavlos Roco, the creater of the O.T.T (Organ Theft Trade) in Rio de Janeiro, ... ambibambi25.blogspot.com/.../espadril-roco-from-wikipedia-free.html
Johnson said authorities do not know what that name was referring to.
Flyers have been distributed to police in Wilmington and to the Latin American Community Center describing Mendiola as missing.
“Hopefully, this is nothing,” Johnson said. “But we can’t take it lightly.”
Mendiola is Hispanic, about 5-feet tall and weighing 140 pounds.
She has brown hair and brown eyes, and also sports a pierced lip.
Police are asking anyone with information on this teenagers whereabouts to call Newport police at 995-1411, Wilmington police at 576-3620 or Delaware Crime Stoppers at (800) TIP-3333.

ANTOINETTE'S POINT OF VIEW
I could only ask if anyone knows where this young lady is that they would report it to the police and have this child safely return to her home. I can only hope and pray that she has not already been transferred out of the country to Canada. It is time that we all must band together to protect our children, attempts on young girls abductions have been tried in surrounding states within the last month or two in Pennsylvania. We have to put a stop and form neighborhood watch to protect our children at the bus stops and if they are walkers to walk with them to school. We need more parental and neighborhood involvement when it comes to our youths and the things that they are being threaten with. I plead with everyone to keep an eye out for this young girl and for all of the children so that we do not have any more children that are going off missing from their homes. I plead with all parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles and friends to think of her as if she was your child, your granddaughter, your niece, your cousin and friend or neighbor and help find Yasmin.Read and share your thoughts on this story.
