OUR 911 OF TODAY, REBUILD THE VILLAGE TO SAVE OUR CHILDREN

There is a big concern in society today, or at least it should be and that is our young people. In neighborhoods across the country we have a major problem with the youth of today.
The young people of today are our leaders of tomorrow. What is instilled in them today, will mold the future. I see young people today that are lost, that do not know which way they are going. It is up to the adults, to guide them and not leave them to be guided by their peers who are also lost.
We (I), are (am) responsible for for each generation that comes after all of us. There was once a time when the community, the school and church or whatever religious organization that your family belonged to worked hand in hand with the rearing of young people, at that time we had the communal, the intellectual and the spiritual working together to create a whole person. We had a village that raised a child.
Today there is a large number of youths who have no roots, little to no foundation and no spiritual guidance. We have a system that dehumanizes and degrades, not only the adults but our future leaders, our young people.
I am grateful that I am not alone and that there are others who see these children not simply as some nebulous statistic, but as people with feelings, desires, hopes and dreams. I am grateful to see people who have a burning desire to help and assist our young people. People that understand that our misguided young people, who find themselves in the system are in most cases mere victims.
Victor Hugo, a great philosopher stated "Where there is darkness, sins will be committed, but he who is guilty is not only he who committed the crime, but he who created the darkness".
When we have failed, when society has failed, then we blame the victim. After all, that is the easiest thing to do, then finding solutions to help and guide the victim. We blame many for the fault of a few. We focus on the MOTHERS and forget the innocent children in these circumstances. There is a large blemish and condemnation on single-headed households as if this was a new phenomenon. We have always had single heads of households and children did not turn out the way they are today. In today's society it is hard to see who is in charge. We have cases where the children appear to be raising the parents, rather then the parents raising the children. We also have households where the parents were never raised by their parent(s), but by their own devices, which they are doing the same to their own children, due to this is what they know to do as a parent.
We make sure that our children our self-sufficient in dressing themselves, playing games and of course working the T.V. What we had failed to do is to teach them self-respect and values and to love themselves.
Children are not taught to RESPECT THEIR ELDERS.
When children are not taught to honor and respect their elders who came before them who paid the price and paved the way for them, How can we expect them not to be disciplinary problems in the future?
You cannot sow disrespect and expect to reap honor, this is done when children are not taught and are put down.
You cannot sow ignorance and expect to reap wisdom. We have to sow wisdom and respect into our young people to reap future leaders, who can grab hold of the next generation and lead and guide them.
We (I), should at this time, this day, this hour take a page from President Barrack Obama's play book that "CHANGE STARTS WITH ME".
We (I), have to be the change the we (I) want for our young people. We (I) have to be the village, that young people need. We (I) have to be the encourager, the nurturer that is needed with our young people today. We (I) have to be the one who monitors the T.V. watching and who cuts if off. We (I) have to the one who sows what is needed into our young people. We have to be the gardeners of their minds, we have to weed out the negative that is put into them and water the seeds of wisdom that we have place into them, so that they grow to be strong and fruitful.
I encourage everyone today to start sowing in young people's lives. Encourage them to follow their dreams. Direct them in the path that they should go. Show them love so that they can love themselves and others. Let each one teach and give respect to our your people, so they will have respect for themselves and others.
Keep in mind someone is always going to be there for the children. Someone is always go to be there to whisper in their ears, plant seeds in their minds. Someone is going to be their hero, someone who they idolize. Whose voice do you want them to hear? Who do you want their hero to be, who do you want them to idolize. The change starts with each one of us.
There is always to many negative reports regarding our young people. I am giving space here for positive reports for our young people, regardless of how big or small, whatever their accomplishment may be. Bookmark this blog and leave comments regarding the young people's accomplishments their hopes and dreams. Help the village to grow across the country. Leave your pearls of wisdom for the young people and for the older ones to direct the younger ones.
We can rebuild the village. The village has been left damaged and uncared for to long. This is our 911 of today, our village has been destroyed and it has left our young people damaged. WE HAVE TO REBUILD OUR VILLAGE NOW. THIS IS A NATIONAL 911 FOR YOUR CHILDREN.

17 year old female is accused of running an Ecstasy ring in Dover, Delaware

A young female of 17, sold drugs while her mother was at work during the day out of their home. The young lady was arrested on Thursday, March 26, 2009 along with six other people. The 17 year old young lady was known as the main player in this drug ring, her home was under a three month undercover investigation. There was also 4 adults males arrested along with her 3 males ages 48, 27, 24 and a 15 year old boy. There was also 2 adult females also one 20 and the other 18 who has not yet been placed into police custody. This 17 year old female is being held in the Stevenhouse in Milford, Delaware, after failure to post a 98,500 dollar bail. When the investigation was completed by police they discovered 235 ecstasy pills, 6.6 grams of crack cocaine, a gram of marijuana and $2065 is suspected drug money. Now the question is who is to blame? Do we look at the mother and blame her for the actions of her 17 year old daughter? Do we think that perhaps this mother should of had a baby sitter for this young lady who will be considered an adult in a year, while she was at work? Do we place the blame on the mother for allowing a 48 year old man to be associated to closely with her teenage daughter and who was this man to the mother. Then we also have to ask did this mother know what was going on and allowed it to happen in her home? That is a question that we do not have an answer to. Where are the neighbors, that they were not seeing all of these adults going in and out of this home, while her mother worked, and why was this child not in school? How many people do we hold accountable for this act that has happened. The real question is who is keeping watch over our children, not only in Delaware but in the whole United States. When laws are made to take the raising of our children out of our hands and into the state's hands are we going to continue to see our children in the system? Do we blame the news, that shows that crime for CEO's of large corporations pay, and they get more money as bonus for a failed job, does this leave the impression to our children that they can also fail and be rewarded for their actions and not be held accountable? Has the government become public enemy number 1, to the raising and guiding of our children, as we strive to lead and direct them into the right path? What do you think, as we see children committing more crime, where do we go as parents to correct our children's actions without the threat of being placed in prison for disciplining our children so that we do not see the results that we are now seeing our youth in, not only here in Delaware, but everywhere.

Obama Takes On The Press - Is it Obama deception?

President Barack Obama takes questions last night in the East Room, in his second prime-time televised news conference, which focused largely on the economy. (Photo by Chip Somodevilla/Getty Images)

AAPP says: I listened to Barack Obama last night, with the back drop of a recent articles, blog post and reports with 'sobering statistics' on racial inequality along with a recent article I read in the NY Times by Jack Krugman regarding Obama's financial policies.

Jack Krugman also writes, "Mr. Obama has apparently settled on a financial plan that, in essence, assumes that banks are fundamentally sound and that bankers know what they’re doing. It’s as if the president were determined to confirm the growing perception that he and his economic team are out of touch, that their economic vision is clouded by excessively close ties to Wall Street. And by the time Mr. Obama realizes that he needs to change course, his political capital may be gone."

Krugman also says, Let’s talk for a moment about the economics of the situation. Right now, our economy is being dragged down by our dysfunctional financial system, which has been crippled by huge losses on mortgage-backed securities and other assets. As economic historians can tell you, this is an old story, not that different from dozens of similar crises over the centuries. And there’s a time-honored procedure for dealing with the aftermath of widespread financial failure. It goes like this: the government secures confidence in the system by guaranteeing many (though not necessarily all) bank debts. At the same time, it takes temporary control of truly insolvent banks, in order to clean up their books.

That’s what Sweden did in the early 1990s. It’s also what we ourselves did after the savings and loan debacle of the Reagan years. And there’s no reason we can’t do the same thing now.

But the Obama administration, like the Bush administration, apparently wants an easier way out. The common element to the Paulson and Geithner plans is the insistence that the bad assets on banks’ books are really worth much, much more than anyone is currently willing to pay for them. In fact, their true value is so high that if they were properly priced, banks wouldn’t be in trouble.

And so the plan is to use taxpayer funds to drive the prices of bad assets up to “fair” levels. Mr. Paulson proposed having the government buy the assets directly. Mr. Geithner instead proposes a complicated scheme in which the government lends money to private investors, who then use the money to buy the stuff. The idea, says Mr. Obama’s top economic adviser, is to use “the expertise of the market” to set the value of toxic assets.

But the Geithner scheme would offer a one-way bet: if asset values go up, the investors profit, but if they go down, the investors can walk away from their debt. So this isn’t really about letting markets work. It’s just an indirect, disguised way to subsidize purchases of bad assets.

The likely cost to taxpayers aside, there’s something strange going on here. By my count, this is the third time Obama administration officials have floated a scheme that is essentially a rehash of the Paulson plan, each time adding a new set of bells and whistles and claiming that they’re doing something completely different. This is starting to look obsessive.

But the real problem with this plan is that it won’t work. Yes, troubled assets may be somewhat undervalued. But the fact is that financial executives literally bet their banks on the belief that there was no housing bubble, and the related belief that unprecedented levels of household debt were no problem. They lost that bet. And no amount of financial hocus-pocus — for that is what the Geithner plan amounts to — will change that fact.

You might say, why not try the plan and see what happens? One answer is that time is wasting: every month that we fail to come to grips with the economic crisis another 600,000 jobs are lost.

Even more important, however, is the way Mr. Obama is squandering his credibility. More HERE

AAPP: Yes, Mr. Obama just may be squandering his credibility with black folks. He also seems to be squandering his credibility with a number of middle class black organizations such as the National Urban League. You see, the Urban League President recently said, "President Barack Obama should specifically address disparities in black unemployment, foreclosures, education and health care, the "National Urban League" in its annual “State of Black America” report.

Yes, finally middle class black folks are seeing the facts, and speaking up and out. Yes, the election of the first black president is great, yet, black folks, as the Urban League reports, are twice as likely to be unemployed, three times as likely to live in poverty and more than six times as likely to be incarcerated.

Marc Morial, president and CEO of the 99-year-old Urban League. has pointed out that Barack Obama has said that the way for government to help minorities is by improving things like education, employment and health care for all Americans. The 288-page report includes policy discussions and essays from academics, elected officials and average citizens. Among its 31 specific recommendations:

_ Ensure that the stimulus package’s green job creation includes poor urban communities.

_ Increase funding for job training and placement for disadvantaged workers.

_ Guarantee full-day schooling for all 3 and 4 year olds.

_ Expand the school day to account for working parents and families without nearby relatives to help with after-school care.

_ Fund mortgage counseling and education programs for minorities.

_ Implement universal health care and a “comprehensive” system to provide blacks with health education, prevention and intervention.

AAPP: It seems to me that the Trillion dollar give away, and other bail plans supported by Barack Obama, will have an end result of giving away American homeowners hard earned equity back to big business interest, will gentrify urban communities, and make sure that black and latino urban dwellers will not be able to afford to live in urban cities across America.

Maybe the American people, particularly African Americans need to watch the film Obama Deception. Take some time to watch the film, it may just open your eyes...

Black Women get Double Life Sentence for $11.00!

Mississippi gave Gladys and Jamie Scott each a double-life sentence in an armed robbery where no one was murdered or harmed and the amount alleged to have been taken was a whopping $11.00. This is a damn shame and a total injustice, says black blogger African American Political Pundit. We here so much in the newspapers about America being a post racial society, can these sisters now get a post racial review of this injustice in Mississippi? I guess Mississippi is still burning with hatred?
African American Political Pundit is a guest blogger on Antoinette's Point of View
H/T and Shout Out to Nancy Lockhart, M.J. Website: www.freethescottsisters.com Scott County, MS ---- In a trial fraught with legal malpractice and witness coercion, Mississippi Judge Marcus Gordon oversaw one of the most blatantly corrupt trials in history, culminating in the staggering over-sentencing of sisters Gladys and Jamie Scott to double-life each in an armed robbery where no one was murdered or harmed and the amount alleged to have been taken was a whopping $11.00. On December 24, 1993, the Scott County Sheriff’s Department arrested the Scott sisters for armed robbery even though three young males, ranging from ages 14 to 18, confessed to committing the crime. Despite this, the corrupt Mississippi sheriff used coercion, threats, and harassment to compel them to turn state’s evidence against the Scott sisters due to a long-standing vendetta against a family member. The 14-year-old male would later testify that he did not read the statement and was pressured to sign a written statement prepared by the sheriff without an attorney being present. As if that weren't bad enough, these young women received incompetent legal representation at the lower court trial. Their attorneys, Firnist J. Alexander, Jr. and Gail Shaw-Pierson failed to interview and subpoena witnesses, only calling one witness when there were several. Incredibly, the jury never even heard any testimony from the alleged victims. The sisters were advised to not testify on their own behalf by their attorneys, Alexander and Shaw-Pierson, denying them the opportunity to speak for themselves. In October of 1994, Jamie and Gladys Scott were sentenced to extraordinary double life terms each in prison, even though neither sister had prior convictions and there was no violence involved in these charges. The four State’s witnesses provided conflicting testimony and one alleged accuser was not called to testify – he was not questioned or subpoenaed by defense attorneys Firnist J. Alexander, Jr. or Gail Shaw-Pierson. Witnesses admitted however, that reports prepared by the Sheriff, of their descriptions of the event contained no such claim. In other words, the sisters were not present. Jamie and Gladys Scott were not involved in the armed robbery and they did not conspire to plan such. Witnesses all testified that they were coerced and threatened by Deputy Sheriff Marvin Williams. Testimony also revealed that Marvin Williams prepared statements of the events from the night of December 24, 1994 BEFORE obtaining signatures and BEFORE the witnesses were brought into his office. In other words, the statements were not written by witnesses. (1) Three affidavits exist – they all state that the Scott Sisters were not involved in this robbery. One affidavit is written by a trustee of the local jail, his account of the facts reveal that a wallet was located a few days after this alleged robbery and that wallet contained the photo ID of one of the alleged victims of the trumped up robbery and three twenty dollar bills. The trustee also reveals that there was NOT a robbery, he was also threatened to be sent to Parchman Penitentiary if he told the truth. According to the Request for Commutation of Sentence and/or Pardon prepared by attorney Chokwe Lumumba, the Scott Sisters challenged their convictions on direct appeal; arguing that there was insufficient evidence to convict them, and the guilty verdict was against the overwhelming weight of evidence, which should have exonerated them. The court of appeals found no error and affirmed the convictions on December 17, 1996. As a result, they filed a Petition for Writ of Certiorari to the Supreme Court, which was denied on May 15, 1997. They consequently filed an Application for Leave to File Motion to Vacate Conviction pursuant to the Mississippi Post Conviction Collateral Relief Act. The Supreme Court also denied that application. This family is shell-shocked, yet determined to fight on. They have tried to have faith that at some point this unbelievable travesty would be corrected and their upside-down lives righted. Yet 14 long years later nothing has changed, the women's five children are still being raised by their now ailing mother, and their father has died of a massive heart attack because of this. The emotional strain this burden has placed upon their family is immeasurable. Jamie Scott writes, "What began as an implication and outright miscarriage of justice, has catapulted to destroy an entire family. Gladys was a 19 year old pregnant mother, and myself, Jamie, a 22 year old mother during the time of our arrest, conviction and sentencing for a crime we did not commit." She continued, "We are convinced that once this chain of events is exposed and unraveled, the events that occurred, the lives that have been destroyed, the pain and suffering the citizens of Scott County have endured; everyone will be utterly amazed, astonished and compelled to assist us in our plight for freedom. We pray that the people would insist upon an investigation into their misconduct and miscarriage of justice." Gladys and Jamie’s older brother has recently returned from Iraq and has served in the US Army for 22 years, while his sisters remain victims of wrongful convictions in the very country that he proudly represents. The defendants and their family are wholly depending on support from the press, organizations, and all those dedicated to justice in making this debacle as public as possible. World Conference on Racism, Slavery Reparations and Obama

Berlin - Germany may boycott a UN conference on racism, over concerns that a preparatory document is singularly critical of Israel, daily Berliner Zeitung reported Saturday. At the same time, a German organisation promoting ties with the Jewish state...

File this under, Can't we just get along! There seems to be a lot of commentary on the planned World Conference on racism.

Get this, first the US withdraws from 2nd World Conference against Racism, now word is, Germany may boycott UN racism talks critical of Israel. The Folks at Monsters and Critics are reporting on how Germany may boycott a UN conference on racism, over concerns that a preparatory document is singularly critical of Israel, daily Berliner Zeitung reported Saturday. As reported by the The NY TImes, The United States will not attend the second World Conference Against Racism in Geneva unless the conference’s main document improves, according to a State Department official, though the Obama administration sent a delegation to preparatory talks in Geneva.

The NY TImes, reports the long, unwieldy document seeks to ban criticism of religion, calls for slave reparations and attacks Israel as racist. Israel and some American Jewish groups urged a boycott of the April conference, and several close American allies, including Canada, said they would not go. The United States walked out of the first Conference Against Racism, in Durban, South Africa, in 2001, as a protest against an effort to compare Zionism to racism. More HERE

At the same time, reports Monsters and Critics a German organization promoting ties with the Jewish state is appealing for Germans to moderate their criticism of Israel's role in the Middle-East conflict.

'Germany should not yield to a UN conference that wants to accuse Israel unilaterally,' German Human Rights commissioner Guenther Nooke said of the anti-racism talks, due to take place late April in Geneva.

'We should initially try everything to change the text of the final document,' Nooke told the newspaper. 'But there will be no participation at all cost,' he added.

Several countries have criticised the fact the preparatory document specifically accuses Israel over its occupation of Palestinian territories.

Other misdeeds, such as the atrocities committed in the Darfur conflict, are not specifically named.

Meanwhile, the President of the German-Israeli Society Johannes Gerster has appealed for Germans to show greater solidarity towards Israel, in the face of the continuing Mid-East crisis. More HERE

AAPP says: I guess the Obama administration will have to decide whether it's stands against color aroused bigotry and racism or will it stand with Israel, Canada and Italy who have announced they will boycott the forum in Geneva.

The first conference, held in Durban in 2001, ended up with the US and Israel walking out, upset over statements of some delegates.

Maybe, just maybe, William Reed is right, when he wrote in EUR web recently, "Reparations for slavery is a proposal that some type of compensation be provided to descendants of enslaved people in consideration of the labor provided for free over several centuries, which has been a substantive and influential factor in the nation's development. The prospect of payment is not new." William Reed goes on to say:

In 1865, General William Tecumseh Sherman issued Special Field Orders, No. 15 granting each freed family forty acres of tillable land in the Georgia Sea Islands and around Charleston, South Carolina for the exclusive use of black people who had been enslaved. The army gave mules to settlers. President Andrew Johnson reversed the order after Lincoln was assassinated and the land was returned to its previous owners.

Black slaves built America for free, including the nation's Capitol and the White House. It's important that the nation's 44th President do what the 17th President did not do to properly atone for the ills of slavery - A system that gave rise to poverty, landlessness, underdevelopment, as well as to the crushing of culture and language, loss of identity, inculcation of inferiority among blacks, and the indoctrination of whites into a racist mindset - all of which continue to this day to affect the prospects and quality of Black People's lives.

America, and its companies, were "unjustly enriched" by a system that enslaved and exploited blacks. The Wall Street banks, and its investors, that the nation is writing checks to built America's infrastructure on the backs of blacks. The number of legal claimants for compensation is undetermined, but Obama could consider a $10,000 annual "slavery tax credit" to Americans who can show themselves descendents of slaves. Some two dozen members of Congress are co-sponsors of legislation to create a commission that would study reparations - that is, payments and programs to make up for the damage done by slavery.

The bill, US House of Representative Resolution 40 "Commission to Study Reparation Proposals for African-Americans Act" should be addressed so that such a commission will address who, what and how much is due. The NAACP supports the legislation. Cities around the country, including Obama's home of Chicago, have endorsed the idea, and so has a major union, the American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees. The old dog-eared adage that "the nation couldn't afford to pay" has been eliminated with the Wall Street buyouts.

If Obama has the confidence to think outside the box, he'll realize what economic stimulus reparations payments would be. The question has always been about how America would raise money to pay reparations, but if they can bailout the infrastructure's entrepreneurs to save America, what about bailing out the people who built it? President Barrack Obama lifts the ban on Stem cell Research

I must state my disgust of President Barrack Obama signing the lifting the Stem Cell Research ban. My conclusion is that if congress allows this to pass, what is going to happen to the United States of America that we know?
I am looking at the bigger picture, where perhaps President Barrack Obama is not seeing. I am looking at mothers who are pregnant and some elite person of influence sees something in their DNA that could benefit them and takes an unborn baby from the mother to experiment on. I am looking at women who become pregnant that will be afraid to go to the Doctor's have proper pre-natal care in fear that their unborn child is aborted without their consent. I am looking at women having babies at home instead of going into the hospitals to have their babies, because some one of a Political office or someone of elite status may have someone that is ill or on the brink of dying from an illness that feels that these cells can help cure them. I am wondering if we are going to become like China who has a limit on how many children a family can have, so that they can use embryos from someone that passed the limit on the limitations of children in a family.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Sai6-uSsacI&feature=related
It seems to me that now the Government is trying to play God, they are now deciding with the ban being lifted, who is allowed to die from a illness and who is the one that is used to save the person from the illness.
A life is not like the banks and the auto industry that we are saving through throwing more money out to bad instead of just allowing them to file bankruptcy and falling, hopefully they will be able to lift themselves up but if not it is not the responsibility of the country or the government to continue to take tax payer money to fund principles and ideologies that are not moral.
When a person gets struck with an illness which is a terrible thing, we should not use the life of the unborn to save the life of someone that is already here and struck with the illness. I agree that we need to support and fund illness and diseases that can be cures for these diseases, that is why we have Doctors and Scientist for. Perhaps if the government would go back to a herbal remedies instead of this mass market of drugs that are causing harm for everything that they are made to cure with the side effects that cause more problems, then we would not have such a climb in these illnesses that require taping into unborn stem cells.
I voted for Barrack Obama to be president, an I understand that we need to support our president and pray that he does not fail in this position that he holds, because if he fails then the country fails. I must also say that I now regret my vote, I feel that it was a wasted vote and one that in the next 4 years will not be given again.
For all the people that the stem cells will help, I am reminded that it is a murder of innocent life that a life is saved or made to be made more comfortable. I say to you and to all of the supporters of this ban being released on stem cell research that the blood of the innocent lives will be on your hands.
I hope and pray that congress will block this bill, and it stays where it belongs banned. As far as anyone in my state that supports it, when the next election comes they will not have my vote.
Today on CNN one of the reporters showed a clip on President Obama, dancing at Senator Kennedy's birthday party. He stated that we all know an uncle who is always dancing. I am sure that most people were able to pick up on the reference on who he is referring to.
So to that I say to you Mr. President stop dancing and smiling, and get to the real work at hand and that is the country that you are to govern and to do so in wisdom and not in role playing.

BLACK FOLKS THAT TEAR DOWN OTHER BLACK FOLKS

What has happened to the black race? What has happened to the pride that we once had as a people that stood up for the people?
How did we become a race that is so lost and divide? Many would say the Willie Lynch letter, and others would say slavery.
I myself say it is a self hatred of being of the African American Race. When you the person of such hatred can down your own race and call everything that they do and say as wrong and place other races on a pedestal and speak of your hatred of the people that are the same as you are, something is wrong.
We have a crisis in Black America, we are so divide that we destroy each other. I'm not refering just to the youth that are killing each other. I'm speaking of the retirement age black adults. That would not only sit and speak against and down the black race, but would also sit with other races and listen to them talk about the race with racist adjectives and sit and laugh and agree with them. When corrected by other black adults, they are refered to as being an ingorant monkey and that white people can say whatever they would like to about no good lazy non-voting negroes. Keep in mind this is coming from a black man. One who is also going to entertain the head to the Klan. It is like a skit from Dave Chapelle, where he was a blind black man, who thought that he was white, not only did he think that he was white, he was also a klan member who wrote books for the klan. Today we have a black man that is blinded by choice not to see his own black skin, and to degrade his own race.
As with everyone esle we have to call out the ones that mean us harm. This one is Black Conservative on blog talk radio. He is a disgrace to the black race and one that will continue to tear it down instead of trying to life it up.
It is a good thing that Blog Talk radio, offers shows that uplifts the black community and enlightens and educates.
In conclusion, we must be all who strive to degrade our race to call them out and make them accountable for their actions.
